Understand Others Better
15.11.2021
A common coaching scenario is the need to work out how resolve an issue between a client and another person.
This is often a work colleague whose approach or manner aggravates the client, for one reason or another.
Last week a client was frustrated by her colleague who she perceived as being an information block. My client summarised the issue as the colleague going to meetings and not passing on information.
We discussed what my client wanted, then moved on to options to achieve this.
Following Aristotle and Covey's 'seek to understand and then be understood' resonated with her.
She rang me later on to say that understanding her colleague's perspective had helped her to negotiate a way forwards.
Result!
